Ashley Dawn Carr was born in Beckley, WV, on December 14, 1985. She grew up in Oak Hill, WV, and when not away at college, she continues to reside in Oak Hill with her parents, Michael and Mary Ann Carr. She has one older brother Chris who is 27; he and his wife currently live in Northen Virginia. Ashley graduated from Oak Hill High School and was the Salutatorian of the Class of 2004.
After high school, Ashley then, without a doubt, chose Marshall University to continue her educational path. She was raised in a diehard Marshall family; therefore, her college decision was an easy one. She began college in the fall of 2004 majoring in Accounting; only because she was unsure about what she wanted to do in life. Ashley switched majors and began her sophomore year in the field of Communication Disorders. Ashley is now a senior at Marshall in the Communication Disorders Department, and after college she plans on attending graduate school to pursue a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Ashley has a passion to work with the geriatric population with those with a neurological disorder.
In Ashley’s free time, she enjoys shopping, exercising, traveling, and vacationing in places with warm climates. Ashley works at Dirty Ernie’s Rib Pit in Fayette County, West Virginia in the summers where she enjoys the experience of meeting tourists who have been rafting on the New River and who have been enjoying the outdoors in scenic West Virginia.
